Firewall Settings and Citect SCADA

Citect SCADA Runtime needs to be in the exception list for the current network. If the alarm server is not functional, or if the hardware alarm "No Server could be found" is raised for a report server, trend server, I/O server or alarm server, you should check the firewall settings to see if communication between runtime and the network is blocked.

During installation you can enable the installer to add Citect SCADA Runtime to the exception list for the current network automatically. If the computer is moved to another network, or the network settings are modified, you will need to check whether runtime is in the exception list for the new network, and if necessary manually update the exception list.

In Citect SCADA, the server receives data via port 5482.

Note: If you chose to postpone modifying the Windows™ firewall settings during installation, when you run Runtime for the first time a "Windows Security Alert" prompt will pop up. There are three check boxes, Domain networks, Private networks and Public networks. At least one check box is selected by default which is based on the current network setting. For additional information refer to the topic Network Communications Overview in the Installation Guide.
