Add Network Addresses

Network addresses are required for any computers in your Citect SCADA network that will run a server process.

To configure a network address:

  1. In the Topology activity, select Edit.
  2. On the menu below the Command Bar, select Network Addresses.
  3. Add a new row to the grid.
  4. Type the required information in each column, or in the Property Grid (see below for a description of the properties).
  5. Click Save.

Property

Description

Name

The name of the machine at the network address being configured. The name needs to be unique to the project and not contain spaces.

Address

The IP address or computer name of the machine or network card being configured. For machines with dual network cards, add a network address for each card in each machine to which you want to communicate. See Network Redundancy for information.

Note: "Localhost" and a fully domain name (complete domain name for a computer) are not supported.

Comment

Any useful comment. This property is optional and is not used at runtime.

Computer

The computer with which the network address is associated.
